Inclusivity is Power

We have often heard about this phrase “Divide and rule” and this holds true across generations as this is timeless. It applies to everything. Its easier to conquer the weaker, the one who is alone and scared than to fight an army and this was understood by some of the biggest tyrants the earth has witnessed. Even World War was result of countries being divided while United Nations was the result of their unity. My point of starting this article with the reference to this is to emphasize on the fact that how weak we become when we face discrimination, when we are left alone and that leads to chaos.

Love is Universal and it is not entrapped in the cell of age, race, gender or culture but all of the factors I just mentioned is a reason that has been used against love and against lovers over the years because according to the society that we created there are rules to love and you are allowed to love someone only when the person matches all the criteria. If it doesn’t match then its not love, it’s a disease. A disease which needs to be cured by taking matters in the court named “society” with judges who writes their own rule to “rule” over others.

In this article to honor the LGBTQ+ community, we will only address the issue in terms of gender. It is very important to remember that we are not sick if our sexual orientation is towards the same gender and also its not in our control as its organic and not an illness. This is not new and has existed in this world since the dawn of time when human beings have fully evolved as we are capable of processing emotions unlike any other mammals.

Throughout history we saw that they were treated so badly only because the love someone, they were abused, killed and even deemed possessed or sick and even labelled sexual predator. Imagine, what that must have done to someone’s life. n 1791, Revolutionary France (and Andorra) adopted a new penal code which no longer criminalized sodomy. France thus became the first West European country to decriminalize homosexual acts between consenting adults. LGBTQ+ Rights in the United States have evolved significantly over time. Prior to 1962, all 50 states criminalized same-sex sexual activity, but by 2015, LGBT Americans had won the right to marry nationwide. On 6 September 2018, consensual gay sex was legalized by India’s Supreme Court. Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), dating back to 1861, makes sexual activities “against the order of nature” punishable by law and carries a life sentence. Can you imagine how many people were unhappy, isolated, punished and killed before section 377 in India. We are all different and love different things but imagine if we were punished for every choice in our life how our life would have been and yet for 100s of years we did the same to someone’s brother, mother, children or Lover. Where tyrants ruled over them and drew pleasure for their sadist mindset for years dividing them by labelling them different leading them to fight for their rights whereas we are all born the same and what they choose is not even hurting anyone as right to choose and personal liberty comes from birth. It is sad it took so many years for us to understand it and countless hours of people fighting for us as we are not different when it comes to love, when it comes to inclusivity and inclusivity is power.

The language of “poetry”

The language of the intuned melodies I call it .

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words”. This is what Robert Frost my favourite poet has said . Well, he is not wrong . My favourite poem is “the road not taken”. Why??

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words”. This is what Robert Frost my favourite poet has said . Well, he is not wrong . My favourite poem is “The road not taken”. Why?? Let’s see together .

Well , throughout our lives we move from one place to another . Place is a metaphor for stages of life that one goes through. For , we are always in this neverending journey and the day this journey stops we leave this stage , this road my friend. And “The road not taken” is always about how in this road you come across crossings with two roads ahead of you and sometimes more . Well mostly it’s always the gamble between the best two. “Choices ” the most difficult part of being alive apart from survival is making them . Choosing that one road which you think will lead you towards your “nirvana”. There are times when you know where to go and then there are times when your mind is a blank slate.Whatever it is ,you still need to make a “choice” and step on that one road which leads to another and then to another and although you want to travel both . You cannot do so .And like all mortals you can’t foresee future so whatever choice you make you console your mind that whichever road you choose is better .Atleast it looked better that time on that day one summer afternoon. But, you also deep down feel the sigh of not taking the other one because you fear the outcomes of your decision and what if it doesn’t turn out to be the one it promised . You talk to yourself that how you might have to tell this with a sigh! After decades how two roads diverged in the woods and you chose the less travelled by and that made all the difference for you. There are times when some roads become more important than others and some turns ,some journeys costs more and as an mortal you ll never know .

If you have read this poem you understand the beauty of it and how powerfully Robert Frost captured our life in just 20 lines or 4 paragraphs , it took me so much to just explain what he wrote . Yes , that’s the beauty of poetry .It lures you in and make you dance to its tune. Its that alluring not just for your heart but your mind. Through decades and centuries poetry has been the language of revolution , introspection , voguage to the unknown and love. One of the basic and most complicated emotions we feel as humans is love . It’s basic and biological , psychological and emotional . It can make you the happiest or can make you commit one of the seven deadly sins or maybe all of them and that is mostly and most Powerfully expressed through poem .Take for example ” it’s not love ,it is madness” ,”flower of love” ,”She walks in beauty” or “sonnet” there are more. Take for example revolutionary sylvia plath and her poem” lady Lazarus” I am sure you go through so many articles or stories about mental health and depression , I bet you ll love it when you read it for it capture how a women tries to take her life in 7 different ways ,7 different times and how each death is unique and how it captures the ongoing struggle of someone going through depression or someone who thinks about taking their life. The greatest writer of all time Shakespeare’s ” All the world’s a stage ” captures the various stages of life , although it might not resonate word to word for example chosen in the poem was in reference to Elizabethian times but the emotions will still capture your attention. Talking about poems and not mentioning Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and gitanjali . No that cannot happen . Have you ever read a book and felt like you are reading someone’s diary ,well read it you ll feel the same . It like his journey of that time through his poems, new day,new page and a new emotion . I even play a game , everyday I used to like think of page number and read a random poem like that’s the spirit of that day.

This article is already long enough for you to get bored . Well , I certainly cannot blame you for this is just a long narrative and not a beautiful symmetry of emotions and words perfectly intuned to retain your attention ! So here I’ll take your leave now but I hope after reading this you ll read one poem or maybe write one for someone you love ,hate or is inspired by . Maybe there is an idea dying inside ,an emotion burning ,a thought wiggling you or maybe an experience haunting or make you mellow. Pen it down before it dies for the power of words will keep it alive or kill that demon inside you or entrap it forever in your diary .

The world is full of poetry. The air is living with a spirit and the waves dancing to the music of the melodies ,and the sparkle in its brightness .

Power of Letting Go___

Let it go.

The feeling of letting go is so beautiful
Peace and self contentment is your reward ❤️
Sometimes things are aren’t meant to be
And sometimes they are
And we will never know
So it’s better to let go
Things and belongings should be mutual and not forced
For it will escape one day breaking the sealed doors
So let it go
Lessons learnt and stinging burns are the only residuals
For the pain and guilt labelled as ego will prevail anyway
So let it go
Let it to before the it turns ugly
Let it go
For the story should be worthy and not long
Remember it’s okay sometimes to get things wrong
❤️
Let it go gracefully
You will find love in your long lost peace hopefully ❤️
